With legs and talons outstretched, a large adult bald eagle comes in close to shore to snatch a fish from the water.
A Bald Eagle can spot prey from several hundred feet above the water while flying, soaring and gliding above. Their eyesight is at least 4 times sharper than the human eye plus they can focus forwards and to the sides at the same time.
To watch a bald eagle fishing by keeping a sharp look out then turning in mid flight and swooping down to catch its prey is amazing. The amount of control as well as power exerted by these fine looking birds is a sight to behold. The bald Eagle is the national emblem of America although there was much debate prior to its successful election because it is also known for its scavenging tendancies. The turkey was also a bird considered as the national emblem.
